Over 100 people were in attendance as Tallahassee Community College unveiled the 37th edition of the Eyrie Art & Literary Magazine and recognized students whose works were selected as the winning submissions in the categories of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, art, and photography.

TCC student Michele Gray is the Spring 2018 recipient of the $500 Developmental Math Scholarship, sponsored by the Florida Developmental Education Association. Gray was nominated by her math professor, Dave DelRossi, for her achievement in his class.

Tallahassee Community College student-athlete Japonica James has been named First-team All-America by the National Junior College Athletic Association.

Tallahassee Community College student Terrius Bruce has received a scholarship to complete an independent research project in tropical biology in Costa Rica this summer. Bruce will be part of a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates program site in Costa Rica. He and the other program participants will be based at La Selva Research Station in Costa Rica.

The Tallahassee Community College Brain Bowl team wrapped up a successful season with a winning match record and a 5th place finish at the FCSAA State Brain Bowl Tournament.

TCC sophomore Jordan Griffin has received a Champion of Service Award from Volunteer Florida. The award honors individuals and groups for their outstanding efforts in volunteerism and service. The award was presented at a ceremony at the Florida Governor's Mansion on March 23. Jordan Griffin was joined at the presentation by his parents, Patricia and Lloyd Griffin. Griffin currently serves as president of the Black Male Achievers Program at TCC. He has also served as a legislative intern for Representative Sharon Pritchett. In the last several years, Griffin has participated in volunteer activities such as mentoring fifth graders with fellow BMA members at John G. Riley Elementary School, volunteering at the John G. Riley Center and Museum, and serving as a TCC peer leader. Griffin has also been an officer in the Florida State Primitive Baptist Youth Convention since 2014. This year, he is the president and oversees the youth ministries of all Primitive Baptist churches in Florida. Griffin is an alum of Lawton Chiles High School in Tallahassee. After graduating from TCC, he plans to attend Morehouse College in Atlanta to pursue a degree in political science. He aspires to be a politician and a civil rights and social justice activist while being the pastor of his own church.

Tallahassee Community College has inducted 23 new members into the TCC chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society of two-year colleges.

Tallahassee Community College recognized three students for their outstanding academic performance and contributions to the culture of the College at the Spring 2018 Eagle Awards ceremony Wednesday, April 4.

Tallahassee Community College defeated Trinity Valley (Texas) Community College, 69-51, on March 24 to win the National Junior College Athletic Association's Division I Women's Basketball National Championship.

Tallahassee Community College honored 10 community members and five TCC students at its annual Women's History Month program on March 21. The five TCC students who were honored for their contributions to the College and the community include: Alisha Ash, Monica Garcia Vega, Sameera Shaik, Samira Taylor and Claire Toman.

Tallahassee Community College Student Troy Presley is one of only three national winners of the Scott Wright Student Essay Contest. He and the faculty member he wrote about, Forster Agama, have both won a $1,000 prize from the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. (March 6, 2018) - Tallahassee Community College placed a total of seven players - four men and three women - on the 2018 Coaches' All-Panhandle Conference basketball teams.

Four Tallahassee Community College students have been named to the 2018 All-Florida Academic Team. Students are selected based on high achievement in the classroom, leadership on campus and service to the community.

The Tallahassee Community College forensics team retained the FCSAA overall championship and the FIFA individual events crown at a pair of February 2018 state tournaments.

TCC students George "Tanner Thomas, Kalab Mitiku and Aaliyah Abarzua, along with Leon High School senior Savannah Wheeler, helped with the making of a commercial for the TCC2FSU Program.

More than 1,000 students were named to the Fall 2017 President's List at Tallahassee Community College.

A team of six students secured Tallahassee Community College's sixth championship in seven years among community colleges at the most prestigious fall semester speech competition in the country, and placed eighth overall in the field of over 40 colleges and universities from around the country.

Tallahassee Community College Model United Nations braved both the cold and numerous working group sessions over Thanksgiving week to participate in a Model U.N. conference in Banff, Canada. The conference hosted more than 250 delegates from seven countries, including TCC's 14 students.

Several students graduating from TCC's nursing and radiologic technology programs were recently recognized for their outstanding performance.
