TCC Forensics Team named State Champions

During the 2020 Florida College System Activities Association State Forensics Tournament Feb. 7-8, Tallahassee Community College's Forensics Team took first place in the Overall Team Sweepstakes and first place in the Individual Events Team Sweepstakes. They also finished second in Debate Team Sweepstakes.

TCC Model UN Students travel to Germany

Six members of TCC's Model UN team recently traveled to Erfurt, Germany, for a week-long international Model UN conference. Students attended an address by German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and also had the opportunity to tour historical sites such as the Buchenwald Concentration Camp, Wartburg Castle, and the Cold War fortifications along the former East German border.

TCC Model UN Students Travel to DC

12 students with TCC's Model UN team recently traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the Model United Nations conference. This group of students represented Spain, received plaudits for their work and visited historical sites. This group of students included: President Dixie Johnston, Barar Ahmed, Barbara Nidia Alvarez-Murrah, Camille Beauchamp, Kirk Cannon, Alaina Eyler, Jackelyn Feliciano, Jacob Goetz, Diksha Jangra, Ramlah Mahboob, Zola Ray, and Sean Rutten. The overall work of the group in their respective UN committees earned them an Honorable Delegation Award. Two students in particular, Ramlah Mahboob and Sean Rutten, were recognized with a Position Paper Award, based on their research and written policies submitted to the conference.

TCC Model UN Team earns multiple awards at Florida Model UN Conference

Tallahassee Community College Model United Nations (TCC MUN), an academic team that participates in United Nations simulations around the world, participated in the Florida Model United Nations in Gainesville, Florida. More than 20 TCC students worked with over 160 delegates from 12 different Florida and Georgia colleges and universities. TCC MUN returned with six awards including one award for a position paper written in preparation for the conference, and 5 awards recognizing their performance in committees.

TCC forensics team successfully defends state speech titles

The Tallahassee Community College forensics team retained the FCSAA overall championship and the FIFA individual events crown at a pair of February 2018 state tournaments.
